Glenochil is sited near Tullibody in central Scotland and holds long-term adult male prisoners with High, Medium and Low supervision security classifications.
Prisoners are not committed to HMP Glenochil direct from the courts but
are admitted following conviction, from other prisons, principally
Barlinnie and Edinburgh. Glenochil provides a range of opportunities
for addressing offending behaviour and for work and education.

VISITS INFORMATION
Family Contact Development Officers (FCDOs)
There are 4 FCDOs in Glenochil. Their aim is to provide advice and information to prisoners and their families.
FCDOs are normally on duty in the Visit Room or can be contacted by phoning 01259 767288. FCDOs also hold Family Induction evenings. These are held once a month for prisoners' next of kin.
Help with Travelling Expenses
The Assisted Prisons Visits Unit (APVU) can offer help to visitors on a low income. For further information write to APVU, PO Box 2152, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B15 1SD or phone 0121 626 2797. Forms are also available from the Visit Room.
Anti-Bullying Strategy
Glenochil have an Anti-Bullying Strategy. Visitors and prisoners can access the confidential helpline (24 hr answerphone) on 01259 767345 if they know someone who is having to put up with violence or bullying of any kind.
Families Outside
Through the families Outside information line visitors can get information about the prison system on FREEPHONE 0500 839383 from 1.00 pm-5.00 pm Monday to Friday. Outwith these hours there is an answering service.
SACRO
SACRO is a volunteer organisation that helps with transport for visitors to prisons. Ask an FCDO for details.
