PostSubject: Vicky Hamilton house search ends   Fri Oct 24, 2008 3:37 pm

Investigators working on the case of teenager Vicky Hamilton who disappeared in West Lothian in 1991 have finished the search of a house in Bathgate.

The search took more than three weeks and DNA results of the examination will now be analysed by scientists.

Peter Tobin, who murdered Polish student Angelika Kluk in a Glasgow church last year, was living in the Bathgate home when Vicky went missing.

The house has now been returned to its current owners.

'Scientific analysis'

Det Supt Brian Doneghan said: "Lothian and Borders Police has completed its examination of a house in Robertson Avenue, Bathgate, that commenced on 4 June.

"The search operation proceeded smoothly and the police are very grateful for the co-operation and assistance provided by the house owners and local residents.

"The results of the examination are now subject to scientific analysis and consideration. The ongoing enquiry into the disappearance of Vicky Hamilton will continue.

"We would urge anyone with information about the case to come forward."
