Man accused of murdering schoolgirl says he was in the south of England the day she disappeared.

The man accused of murdering schoolgirl Vicky Hamilton more than 17 years ago claimed today he was nowhere near the scene of her alleged abduction.

Peter Tobin, who is 62, lodged an alibi notice in court stating he was in the South of England on the day she disappeared.

His trial is due to start on the third of November and is expected to last five weeks.
